Thinkin' Of Christmas

THINKING OF CHRISTMAS
Fluffy white clouds in a pretty blue sky
A big yellow sun hangs up there
The calendar says it’s December so I
Go to look for a nip in the air
But I’m wearing a t-shirt that says “Elf Antiques”
Because it is 80 degrees
And the lot down the block selling fresh trees and wreaths
Might soon need to make it all free
Still I’m thinking of Christmas
I’m wondering where it could be
Yes I’m thinking of Christmas
And snow-ow-ow covered evergreen trees
All the people are ‘blading and riding their bikes
Instead of out group caroling
And all of the street decorations and sights
Look misplaced when it’s feeling like spring
All the gift stores are empty despite the big sales
Their windows just don’t do the trick
Seems like everything done is just to no avail
When the heat isn’t bringing St. Nick
Still I’m thinking of Christmas
I’m wondering where it could be
Yes I’m thinking of Christmas
And snow-ow-ow covered evergreen trees
So I string my lights
And I trim my tree
I’ll make ready for Christmas just
The way I know that it should be
As I look to the sky I hope soon it will snow
And that Christmas is never outgrown
And thinking of families gathered, I know,
That we never do Christmas alone
Still I’m thinking of Christmas
I’m wondering where it could be
Yes I’m thinking of Christmas
And snow-ow-ow covered evergreen trees
Yeah, I’m thinking of Christmas!
Well, I’m thinking of Christmas!

Christmas Is Coming (The New York State Thruway)
The New York State Thruway’s a cold, lonely road
In wintertime, north of Poughkeepsie
And driving a semi through gale driven sleet
Brings a warp speed effect – makes you dizzy.
And it doesn’t help much that I’m missing you so
Makes my mind drift to when we’re together
But six exits later I come back to the road
And I wonder just how did I get here
Well, Christmas is comin’, there’s presents to buy
So our kids can keep up with the Jones’
Yeah, Christmas is coming, there’s presents to buy
So we don’t have to hear all their groans
Been driving this rig for a day and a half
Cause the money’s too good to reject it.
So I lie to the owners and live on caffeine
And I hope that my rig I don’t wreck it.
And it isn‘t real easy to tell the white lines
From the white snow that covers this roadway
And it isn’t real easy keepin’ open my eyes
But I still keep on haulin’ my loads, hey
Because Christmas is comin’, there’s presents to buy
So our kids can keep up with the Jones’
Yeah, Christmas is coming, there’s presents to buy
So we don’t have to hear all their groans
So I turn up my XM and listen real hard
‘Bout a mother who prays for deliverance.
And I swear to that God if I get where I’m goin’
I’ll sleep for a day without hindrance.
Oh yeah, Christmas is comin’, there’s presents to buy
So our kids can keep up with the Jones’
Oh yeah, Christmas is coming, there’s presents to buy
So we don’t have to hear all their groans

Edelweiss/Your Love and Christmas
Edelweiss, edelweiss
Every morning you greet me
Small and white, clean and bright
You look happy to meet me
Blossom of snow may you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow, forever
Edelweiss, edelweiss
Bless my homeland forever
I don’t want any fancy things like a
New guitar or a diamond ring
Presents wrapped up in ribbon and bows
Very nice, I admit, but I think you should know
Everyday spent with you is gift that fulfills all my
Wishes and so I say this:
Christmas morning, exchange what we do, but
I just want to be loved by you.
Your hand in my hand
Your lips on my lips
Your heart feeds my soul
Your love and Christmas never grow old
Edel weiss, edel weiss
I don’t want any fancy things like a
Every morning you greet me
New guitar or a diamond ring
Small and white, clean and bright
Presents wrapped up in ribbon and bows
You look happy to meet me
Very nice, I admit, but I think you should know
Blossom of snow may you bloom and grow
Everyday spent with you is a gift that
Bloom and grow, forev- er
fulfills all my Wishes and so I say this:
Edel weiss, edel weiss
Christmas morning, exchange what we do, but
Bless my homeland forever
I just want to be loved by you.
I just want to be loved by you.

Now I Know It’s Christmas Time
FalalalalaFalalalalaFalalalalaFalalala
FalalalalaFalalalalaFalalalalaFalalala
Santa ringing a bell, asking “Please, won’t you help” (Now I know it's Christmas time)
Lights hung high over streets and a huge lighted tree (Now I know it's Christmas time)
Blow up snowmen bobbing on a lawn in the breeze
And next door a wooden white nativity
I know it's Christmas time!
FalalalalaFalalalalaFalalalalaFalalala
People passing me say "Have a wonderful day!" (Now I know it's Christmas time)
And the houses all glow while we wait for some snow. (Now I know it's Christmas time)
Present shopping fills the malls most every night
Kids all know and try to do only what's right
They know it's Christmas time!
FalalalalaFalalalalaFalalalalaFalalala
With December Jack Frost chills the air
Men with white beards fill up Santa chairs
Songs that tell us of a holy night
They’re part of the season’s signs that fill me with delight.
I know it’s Christmas time!
FalalalalaFalalalalaFalalalalaFalalala
Cards we send and receive speak of what we believe (Now I know it's Christmas time)
Wreaths we hang up with wire, stockings hung by the fire (Now I know it's Christmas time)
Decorations passed from my parents to me
Reinforces Christmas is about family.
The love of Christmas time!
FalalalalaFalalalalaFalalalalaFalalala
FalalalalaFalalalalaFalalalalaFalalala
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen
Comet, Cupid, Donder, Blitzen
Santa ringing a bell, asking “Please, won’t you help”
(Now I know it's Christmas time)
Lights hung high over streets and a huge lighted tree
(Now I know it's Christmas time)
People passing me say "Have a wonderful day!"
(Now I know it's Christmas time)
And the houses all glow while we wait for some snow.
(Now I know it's Christmas time)
Cards we send and receive speak of what we believe

Wreaths we hang up with wire, stockings hung by the fire

Christmastime Fantasies

CHRISTMAS TIME FANTASIES
Black skies and starlight, snowflakes in the air
Christmas time fantasies dreamt everywhere
Can there be such a place, filled with those dreams?
Christmas time fantasies, in a moonbeam
Grey mice and princes, a light covered tree
Blue fairy princesses dance airily
Snow covered palaces beckon to me
Christmas time fantasies, in a moonbeam
A snowy white quilt
Pulled tight to her chin
And I can see in her smile just where she’s been
Toy soldiers march, reindeer fly above all
Silly bear ambling with parasol
Wonder filled lands; can you visit with me?
Christmas time fantasies, in a moonbeam
Grown up and grown old
Can I still perceive
The wonders my younger mind truly believed?
Black skies and starlight, snowflakes in the air
Christmas time fantasies dreamt everywhere
Time can’t diminish the magic for me
My Christmas time fantasies

MEMORIES OF CHRISTMAS
Christmas comes and in my mind I’m a child at night
Driving with my family to see Christmas lights
And I think of waking up, my brother by my side
To stockings overflowing and presents piled so high
Memories of Christmas
With our star bright and lights red and green and blue
Memories of Christmas
I’ll make memories of Christmas with you
Now I’m grown and I’m with you and I clearly see
Decorations that we bought, on our Christmas tree
Makes me smile just knowing that come this Christmas morn
You’ll wish me “Merry Christmas,” and the day will be reborn
Memories of Christmas
With our star bright and lights red and green and blue
Memories of Christmas
I’ll make memories of Christmas with you
Christmas present makes memories
That we hold on to
That we can taste and smell and touch and hear and see
We’ll have kids and as they grow, I know they will find
Christmas joys with family I once had with mine
You and I will make it so with our love, my dear
Happy family memories of Christmas every year
Memories of Christmas
With our star bright and lights red and green and blue
Memories of Christmas
I’ll make memories of Christmas
I’ll make memories of Christmas
I’ll make memories of Christmas with you

Christmas In Mind

Christmas In Mind
Wrapping of presents for Christmas morn
Back hurts, we’re tired; paper gets torn
Biting our tongues when the tape we can’t find
Trying so hard to keep Christmas in mind
Wrapping of presents for Christmas morn
In our beds we have to
Back hurts, we’re tired, paper gets torn
stay We can’t wait for Christmas
Biting our tongues when the tape we can’t find
day Presents underneath the
Trying so hard to keep Christmas in mind
tree Hope some are for me
Eight weeks of shopping so Christmas is right
We know that on Christmas
Trudging through malls strung with sparkling lights
Eve To the good kids who be-
Even when pushed, we try hard to be kind
lieve Santa and his reindeer
Sometimes it’s hard to keep Christmas in mind
fly Presents piled so high
Is there more of Christmas that we all should keep in mind?
Peace on earth and joy to all and love for all mankind?
Isn’t that what Christmas time is really all about?
Could we see the majesty if we did without?
Hearth filled with fire, tree filled with lights
Have another Christmas
Drinking some eggnog, holding my wife
dream May be hard, or so it
Watching a movie, a life’s redefined
seems That we’ll always be
We found our way to keep Christmas in mind
inclined To keep Christmas in mind
We’ll keep Christmas in mind
We’ll keep, we’ll keep, we’ll keep Christmas in
mind We’ll keep, we’ll keep, we’ll keep Christmas in

Missing Christmas

MISSING CHRISTMAS
January blizzard
Sitting by the fire
Look around at empty walls and shelves
Where are all the red hats
And the stocking holders?
Everything’s so drab without our elves
And I’m just missing Christmas
Everywhere I go, people seems to know
That I’m just missing Christmas
No more lighted trees for all to see
Yes, I’m just missing Christmas, missing Christmas
Sitting here with my wife
Know I have a good life
But it’s better when it’s Christmas time
Christmas cakes and candy
See extended family
Such a letdown when it’s all behind
And I’m just missing Christmas
Everywhere I go, people seems to know
That I’m just missing Christmas
No more lighted trees for all to see
Appears that winter’s gloom
Is amplified
By Christmas signs no longer here
We are all affected, we’re dissatisfied
We need our Christmas decorations near
Two more months of winter
Then the spring and summer
Autumn lets anticipation rise
Come Thanksgiving weekend
Christmas songs and movies
Christmas season spirit now applies
And I’m just missing Christmas
Everywhere I go, people seems to know
That I’m just missing Christmas
No more lighted trees for all to see
Yes, I’m just missing Christmas, missing Christmas
